Seeing the complications and heartbreak from his point of view reframes everything that happened between them, revealing the internal conflict he kept hidden from Layken and filling in the gaps that her first-person narration left open. Colleen Hoover closes the series by insisting that love stories look different depending on who is telling them.

Kirby Heyborne brings Will's voice to life with warmth and genuine emotion, capturing the push-and-pull between his feelings and his responsibilities without melodrama. Heyborne's strengths as a narrator, empathy and quiet authenticity, suit the confessional tone of Will's sections particularly well. Series fans who listened to the first two books will find this a moving way to complete the trilogy.
